With converting a graphic novel into a noir film, this was right up his alley. Rodriguez is known for his work with the Spy Kids films, making those movies look futuristic, but also have a video game-like quality to them. Animation World Network states that Frank Miller was hesitant at first to turn over his work, so that it could become a film, but when filmmaker Robert Rodriguez came forward with a script, Miller was seduced into saying yes. ![]()
